Profiles in Technology
Here are some stellar examples of how faculty are using technology in the classroom:

Professor Martin Horning
Professor Horning is currently working on an oral histories project with the African American Museum in Canton, OH. He is involving his students in the interviewing process. The students record the interviews with elderly African Americans in our community. The students then upload the video footage into a computer and edit it digitally. The final product is an archival DVD of each interview that will be given to the museum for future oral histories expositions.

Professors Rich Dutson, Mike Zwilling, and Jim Klayder
Professor Dutson first envisioned creating his own geopolitical simulation game for use in his class some five years ago. After working closely with ITMS on a prototype, he enlisted the support of two of his colleagues: Professor Mike Zwilling (Math) and Professor Jim Klayder (Computer Science). Together, the three have developed a professional quality simulation that is both easy to use and involves some complex decision making. The current version of the simulation game is written in Java and incorporates some fabulous graphics.

Professor Ivory Lyons
Professor Lyons uses technology in all facets of his teaching. From posting assignments on our course management (I Q Web) system to using PowerPoint presentations in class, Professor Lyons is an enthusiastic technology user. Specifically, Professor Lyons has invigorated his students with music, images, and other cultural artifacts of world religions, which he provided electronically via PowerPoint. He has also made these presentations available to his students on the campus network, allowing them to access the information after his class has ended. His use of technology and, particularly, his willingness to share his knowledge with others has had an extremely positive impact on students and faculty at Mount Union College.
